The baby-boom (in opposition to Baby-crash) is a big raise of the Birth rate certain countries, just after the end of the Second world war. The newborns during this period are called baby boomers , sometimes simply boomers.
This period extends from 1945 in the middle of the Années 1950 for the majority of the countries north-Europeans. For certain countries, like the France, it continued until the end of 1974, although in a way less important than in the years 1950. For the Spain, this phenomenon started later in 1957, to finish itself in 1977 |date= November 25th, 2007 . During the first two decades of the 21e century, the baby boomers which leave massively to the retirement will create a new socio-economic effect of scale: the Grandpa boom.
“Prophets”In agreement with the theory of William Strauss and Neil Howe, the generation of the Western boomers would be mainly made up of idealists, egocentric people, people who fight until death for the ideal that they set. This generation is already in conflict with the " X" , more independent, and have sometimes problems to include/understand conservatism, the homogeneity and the capacities of team work which their children of the Génération Y raise.
The ideal of this generation is, for certain, capitalism, the right to the possession and freedom.
The French sociologist Louis Chauvel underlines the exceptional historical chance of the members of this generation, in France as in other Western countries, and insists on their responsibility in the crisis lived by the following generations.
