Bab Mansour el Aleuj

Bab Mansour el Aleuj is most important and the most remarkable door of Meknès completed in 1732 by Moulay Abdallah, wire of the Sultan Moulay Ismaïl. It was conceived by a Christian converted with Islam, from where its name: the door of Mansour, the renegade . The marble columns which decorate the projecting side bastions come from the ruins of Volubilis.

Put besides its historical value, Bab Mansour is regarded by the inhabitants of the city as the gate binding the past to the present.
