Bab El-Oued
Bab El-Oued is popular quarters of Algiers, capital of the Algérie. Until 1962, it was the principal European district of the city. The district of Bab el-Wadi is delimited in the North-East by the sea front (Mira boulevard), in the west by the commune of Bologhine and the hill of Bainem, in south-west by the commune of Expense-Small valley (Koriche wadi) and in the east by the Kasbah. History
During the War of Algeria, this district then European was one of the bastions of OAS. Following the murders of called by the latter on March 22nd, 1962, the district was buckled for excavations. The OAS organized then against demonstration which was completed by the Fusillade of the street of Isly.
