BD\' Star
The publisher BD' Star was created in 1978 by Francis Slomka, journalist with Antenne 2, person in charge of the sector cartoon for the drafting ( One on five , emission of Wednesday afternoon of 1976 to 1979). It meets Michel Lafon, young editor of the Podium magazine for Claude François. Together, they approach Jean Tabary, author of Iznogoud, orphan of Rene Goscinny.
They publish the last album of Rene Goscinny: " I want to be a caliph in the place of the caliph " , whose last page is a poignant homage of Iznogoud to his/her late father. A press attaché celebrates, Tessa Siegrist, the assistance to promote the album which is the success of the summer 1978. 100000 specimens are torn off in two weeks. Alas, Michel Lafon, pressed by financial problems, diverts the benefit with his profit (he is condemned in justice a few years afterwards), signing the death of Editions BD' Star. Francis Slomka and Jean Tabary then decide to join and found in 1979 another publisher: editions of Séguinière.
