BCP (bubble lactose with the BCP)

Use

Enumeration of the Coliforme S of water.

Composition

  • Peptone: 5,0 G
  • Beef extract: 2,0 G
  • Lactose: 5,0 G
  • Bromocrésol crimson: 25 Mg
(pH = 6,9)

Preparation

12 G per liter. Traditional pressure-sealing. Not to forget to add a Bell in the tube.

Reading

  • yellow Coloring → lactose +

  • Coloring violet → lactose -

This medium can be used for the enumeration of the coliformes in water. However one will prefer the technique by filtration.
