BB 9200 Capitole
The six BB 9200 Capitole (called “red BB”) were the first engines of the SNCF at high speed (higher than 160 km/h) for the regular service of the passenger trains. They acts of a under-series of BB 9200.
They were charged with 1967 with 1970 of the traction of the express trains “Capitole” between Paris and Toulouse.
Whereas the BB 9291 and 9292 were studied and built for high speeds (they were suited to 250 km/h), the 9278,9281,9282 and 9288 resulted from the transformation of machines of series; they were limited besides to 200 km/h.
The BB 9200 reds with their plate “Capitole” were also a model in railway model making, especially the models Märklin and Roco (Roco 43563) known by the amateurs (Märklin 3059 who reproduces the BB 9291 is particularly required by the experts).
