BASIC English

Different the English basic is forms of simplified English language.

For example:

  • Special English , English of the Voix of America (during Radio France Internationale or Deutsche Welle) is perfectly coded basic English, of 1500 words only
  • phonetic basic English
  • purely European basic English (words with American consonance there one banished with the profit of Anglo-Saxon words more oxfordiens)
  • the English BASIC of Ogden which is a very restricted subset (850 words) of the English language
  • the English simplified of use in industry Aérospatiale.

Basic English is to be distinguished from the form of Globish suggested by Madhukar Gogate into 1998 which, contrary to that proposed by Jean-Paul Nerrière in 2004, is a version simplified but not formalized of English and is not based on a restricted vocabulary.

“English BASIC” (for British American Scientific International Commercial ) is to be distinguished from “basic English” even if milked of “English BASIC”.
