B92

B92 , in Serb Cyrillic Б92, is a radio station and a television channel located at Belgrade, the capital of the Serbia. It aims in priority a young and town public. On the political plan, it can be defined as liberal. B92 is directed by Veran Matić, one of the most respected owners of media of Balkans.

B92 was one of the rare media to disseminate independent information at the time of Slobodan Milošević and it supported the protest movements which developed in Belgrade in the years 1990. For this reason, B92 obtained the reward MTV Free your Mind in 1998, as well as other rewards in the field of journalism and the human rights.

In September 2000, B92-TV started to diffuse its television programs. At the time, the chain covered only the area of large Belgrade and part of the Voïvodine. It now covers most of the country.

In April 2006, B92 obtained a national license for the diffusion of its programs, at the same time as TV Pink, Fox Televizija, TV Swallowed and TV Košava.

Among the regular emissions of the chain, one can quote Utisak nedelje ( Impression of the week ) of Olja Bećković, Poligraf of Jugoslav Ćosić and Antonela Riha and Timofejev by Aleksandar Timofejev. The emission Insajder of Brankica Stanković offers to the telespector a rather rare example in Serbia of journalism of investigation. The comic emission Mile vs. Tranzicija of Zoran Cvijanović is very popular.

Since 2006, diffuses Veliki brat , the Serb version of Big Brother , for which it beat records of audience but also received criticisms on behalf of its usual televiewers. Did the chain announce for spring 2007 the diffusion of two plays, Uzmi ili ostavi and Želite Li da postanete milioner? , versions local of Deal gold No Deal and of Who Wants to Be has Millionaire? .

B92 currently holds for Serbia the rights of diffusion on line of the competitions of Formule 1, of the Ligue of the Champions of the UEFA (since 2003) and of Liga Spanish.
