Büdingen
Büdingen is a German city in the district of Wetterau in the Land of Hess. It is re-elected for its medieval fortifications and its picturesque buildings with half-timbering.
Geography
Geographical location
Büdingen is located at the south of Wetterau to the foot of the Vogelsberg to a height of 160 m. The city, crossed by the Seemenbach, is with 15km birthplace of Barbarossa, Gelnhausen and with 40km in the east of Francfort-sur-le-Main. Historically, Büdingen is in the county of Oberhessen.
Geology
Büdingen is in a wet and marshy valley. This is why the castle and the old city are posed on beams of oaks centenaries, which are assembled on posts of beech. The level of water must thus constantly remain high so that air does not arrive at the foundations.
Districts of the city
Since the territorial reform of 1972 (Gebietsreform), the districts of Aulendiebach, Büches, Büdingen, Calbach, Diebach amndt Haag, Düdelsheim, Dudenrod, Eckartshausen, Lorbach, Michelau, Orleshausen, Rinderbügen, Rohrbach, Vonhausen, Wolf and Wolferborn make party of the city.
At the same time, Büdingen is integrated in the Wetterauskreis (Land of Hesse). The integration of the town of Büdingen to the Wetterauskreis remains unpleasant to the population. Until today, the bad connection of the public transport with the sub-prefecture of Friedberg reinforces even more this position.

The church of Saint-Remigius is reorganized and raised in 1050. It with the same form currently.
In 1131 the lords von Büdingen are mentioned for the first written time. Do those become in 1155 counts (Burggrafen?) of Gelnhausen. The Büdingen villa was mentioned the first time in 1206. The line of the lords von Büdingen dies out with Gerlach II in 1247 with Mannesstamm.
