Börek
The Böreks , Bureks or Beureks are pastry makings salted filled with cheese (peynirli) , spinaches (ıspanaklı) , chopped meat (kıymalı) , sometimes of the potatoes (patatesli) . They are often containing yufka (very fine kind of corn crepe resembling the Brik S, near to the filo) and fried, but one finds also varieties with water (known böreği) . They are sold in pastry making or in gravers specialized - called buregdžinica in ex-Yugoslavia - in Turkey, Arménie, Bosnia-Herzégovine, Croatia, Serbia and more generally in the areas in the past dominated by the Ottoman Empire.
This mets holds its origin of the Othoman kitchen. It was probably spread in the Balkans at the time of the Ottoman Empire. In Israel, it is known under the name of " burekas". In Bulgaria, it is called " banitsa" (баница).
