Bézonde

The Bézonde is a French river which runs in the Département of Loiret. It is an affluent of the Loing out of left bank, therefore a tributary of a tributary of the the Seine.

Geography

It takes its source in the west of Nesploy in the oriental party of the Forêt of Orleans. It very early adopts the direction of the east which it does not leave throughout its course. Bézonde thus crosses the south-western part of the Gâtinais, and ends up being thrown in Loing with Châlette-on-Loing, with two kilometers downstream from Montargis.

Hydrology

Bézonde is a not very abundant river, like the majority of the affluents of the Loing. It is moreover very irregular. Its flow was observed over one 28 years period (1980-2007), with Pannes, locality of the Département of Loiret located little before its confluence with the Loing. The catchment area of the river is of 339 km ².

The interannual medium flow or module of the river with Pannes is of 1,48 m ³ a second.

Bézonde present of the seasonal fluctuations of flow important, like a little everywhere in the under-basin of Loing, with risings of winter-spring carrying the average monthly flow on a going level from 2,02 to 3,2 m ³ a second, from December to April included (with an in January maximum), and low waters of summer, June to October included, with a fall of the monthly medium flow until the minimum flow of 0,342 m ³ in August. But there exist oscillations of flow much more marked over moreover short periods.

With the low water level, the VCN3 can fall until 0,021 m ³, in the event of dry period quinquennial, that is to say 21 liters a second, which can be regarded as is very severe, but frequent in the area. For recall, the VCN3 is the past minimal quantity or minimal flow over three days consecutive.

As for the risings, they can be very important. Thus the recorded maximum instantaneous flow was of 53,6 m ³ a second on April 10th, 1983, while the value maximum day laborer was of 42,1 m ³ a second the same day. These figures do not appear enormous at first sight, but it should not be forgotten that it is about a small basin of 339 km ², and that proportionally they are more important than those of the Loing for example. The QIX 10 or calculated flow of decennial rising is of 36 m ³ a second, the QIX 20 of 43 m ³ and the QIX 50 of 57 m ³. The QIX 2 and QIX 5 are worth as for them respectively 19 and 29 m ³ (see note). From where it arises that the risings of April 1983, of which it was question higher, were almost cinquantennales.

On the whole however, Bézonde is a not very abundant river. The Lame of water past in its catchment area is of 138 millimetres annually, which is very weak, largely lower than the overall average of France, but also than the average of the totality of the basin of the the Seine (240 millimetres). The specific Flow of the river (or Qsp) reached the figure of 4,4 liters a second and per square kilometer of basin.
