Bétheny
Bétheny is a common Frenchwoman, located in the department of the Marne and the area Champagne-Ardenne. It belongs to the community of agglomeration Rheims Métropole. Its inhabitants are called the Bethenyats (a Bethenyat , a Bethenyate ).
History
From August 22nd to 29th 1909 was held in Bétheny the “Great week of aviation of Champagne”, first international meeting of aviation of the Histoire of aviation to which assisted a million spectators. In July 1910 was organized there one second great week of aviation and, in 1913, the cut Gordon Bennett of aviation speed which the rémois Maurice Prévost with 203 kilometers per hour gained over plane Deperdussin.
At the place where these three were held international air meetings were built the Air base 112 Rheims-Champagne “Commander Marin Meslée” of Rheims, service entrance in October 1928.
