Béthanie

Bethanie is small a Ville south of the Namibia, but also one of oldest, rested by the company missionary of London (London Missionary Society) in 1804. The city counted 10400 inhabitants in 2005.

The Pasteur Heinrich Schmelen built there the house known as Schmelen in 1814, regarded today as the oldest building of Namibia.

In 1883, it is in Bethanie that the German Colonisation with the sale by the chief Nama Josef Frederiks began from bay of Angra Pequeña in Heinrich Vogelsang for the account of Adolf Lüderitz.
