Bérive

Bérive is a Lieu-dit inhabited south-west of the island of the Meeting divided between Saint-Pierre and the Plug, two common close among most populated to this Overseas department French located in the Indian Ocean.

Situation

Toponymy

Like the Bénare of Large Bénare or the Bélouve of Forest of Bélouve , the toponym was made up starting from the term Malgache Be , which means Lieu. In fact, Bérive would mean place where there is many Vent .

Bérive is served by the Route Hubert-Delisle, which crosses it in its center at an altitude slightly lower than 600 meters. It provides to the inhabitants an rapid access with the Center-ville of the Tampon, which is in fact the next space built in direction of the North-West. In the other direction, once the gully crossed via a To erase, it leads to Green Mont the Tops then Piton Guava.
