Bérénice IV

Bérénice V is a princess of the dynasty lagide which reigns on the Egypt of -58 with -55. It is the girl of Ptolémée {{XII}} '' Aulète Néos Dyionisos ''. In -58 the people of Alexandria revolts against his/her father, culprit according to him of inertia vis-a-vis Rome since it did not do anything to prevent the annexation of Cyprus by the Roman Republic. Ptolémée is reversed and Bérénice related to the throne with her husband Archélaos of Cappadoce. During three years Ptolémée tries to obtain the support of the Romains to return to the capacity and reaches that point while corrupting the governor of Syria, Aulus Gabinius. This one invades the Egypt with its troops (among its officers some Marc Antoine) in -55. Ptolémée, hardly reinstalled with the capacity, makes carry out Bérénice.

It was the older sister of Cléopâtre {{VII}}, of Ptolémée {{XIII}}, of Ptolémée {{XIV}} and of Arsinoé {{IV}}.
