Bénouville is a common French, located in the department of the Calvados and the area Basse-Normandie. The inhabitants are bénouvillais them and the bénouvillaises.

Geography

Bénouville is in the Apple-brandy between Ouistreham and Caen along the Canal of Caen to the sea.

History

Bénouville was the first target of the allied unloading. Under the orders of the Lieutenant-colonel Richard Geoffrey Fuck-Whetstone sheath of the 7th (Infantry Light) Parachute Battalion and Brigadier general Nigel Poett of the British 5th Parachute Brigade, the major John Howard lands with her three sailplanes with 00:20 (but 23:20 English hour, which explains why Bénouville has a " Place of June 5th, 1944 " and not a " Place of June 6th, 1944 ").
