" BECHEREL, ISCED OF LIVRE" ®

Created in 1989, by " Savenn Douar" association law 1901. The objective is to set up a cultural company in rural environment, to create a dynamics favorable to job creation to revitalize the old center of Bécherel which was désertifiait since the years 1960.
  • 1989 - Organization of the first festival of the Book and launching of " Bécherel, City of Livre®" with deposit of the mark with the INPI.

Opening of the bookstores: Gwrizienn (the Root) and Dazont (Future). Opening of the Bookstore of Association: Blaterie. Installation of a Bookbinder and a Secondhand bookseller.
  • 1990 - Installation of a formation at the trades of the Book.
  • 1991 - Revival of the markets of antan with the Fair of the Saint Martin (November), fair with the Poultry, the foie gras and other products of the farm in partnership with the Room of Agriculture of Ille-et-Vilaine, the Great Order of Frigousse and the Municipality of Bécherel.
  • 2001 - Installation of a station of assistant to the cultural activity(AP)s. Organization of training courses related on the book and the Breton culture. Creation of editions “BECHEREL, ISCED OF the BOOK” ®
  • 2003 - Organization of the Living room of the Inheritance of the Country of Brocéliande.
  • 2005 - In March, for the Spring of the Poets, launching of the first Festival European of Greek and Latin (TM) by Elizabeth Antébi, historian, then bookseller, and consulting cultural, with the assistance of Patrick Poivre d' Arvor, Jacqueline de Romilly, Jacques Lacarrière.
  • 2006 - Second Festival European of Greek Latin/(TM) directed by E. Antébi, with participation of Hungary, of Portugal, of Finland and Greece.

Each year, the Fête of the Book is held the weekend of Easter, and, in addition to the fifteen open booksellers and secondhand booksellers all the year, a " market of the livre" place has all first Sunday of each month. Others go festive: Night of the Book (August), To read in Festival (October), Treasures of Bécherel (December) and since 2005, at the time of the Spring of the Poets (March) the Festival European of Greek and Latin , on an idea of E. Antébi (Bookstore Main Albert, http://www.antebiel.com), of which the first was inaugurated by Jacques Lacarrière.
