Bârlad is a town of Romania located in the Judeţ de Vaslui and bathed by the Rivière Bârlad.
Its territory was inhabited since and the city is attested in a document of the 12th century.
It was an important shopping mall located at the crossroads of the roads which bound the countries of the basin of the Black Sea to the Central Europe and at the Eastern European countries of Europe until the the Baltic.
With the the Middle Ages (XV-XVIII-s.) Bârlad was the capital of the southern half of the Moldavie.
With the length of its Bârlad history was destroyed many times: invasions, fires, floods. The last in date took place in 1977 at the time of large a Earthquake.
Since, Bârlad became a town of second category with a rate of the Chômage to the top of the average of the country (16%). But there is always an important cultural activity: theater, museums (of history, classic art and modern). Each year a festival there is organized: Zilele farming ale Barladului .
