Bernard Saint-Hillier is a Militaire French born the December 29th 1911 with Dole (the Jura) and deceased the July 28th 2004 with Paris.

Biography

Graduate of Saint-Cyr military school in 1933, it is affected with the 11th battalion of Alpine hunters where it orders the section of scouts - skiers.

In 1938 it joined the Foreign legion and the 13 {{E}} Half-brigade of Foreign legion like Capitaine. It takes part in the defense of Bir-Hakeim in 1942 and in all the campaigns of the unit.

In 1943, it is promoted Commander and Lieutenant-colonel in 1944. The March 25th 1945, it takes the command of the 13 {{E}} Half-brigade of Foreign legion. In 1946, it is affected in metropolis and spends two years to the staff of the armed forces.

In 1951, it is Colonel and orders the 18th regiment of parachutists until in 1954, date of its departure in Indo-China. After its stay in the Far East, he is listener of IHEDN.

In 1958, he is chief of staff with Constantine. In 1959, promoted brigadier general, he is military principal private secretary of the Ministère of Defense.

It orders the 10 {{E}} Division parachutist of 1960 with 1961. In 1962, he is French military representative near the command combined in Europe.

It is promoted major general in 1965 and is named inspector of the personnel of reserve of the Army.

In 1968, it is lieutenant-general of army and order IIIe military region of Rennes and member of the Superior council of the War.

It takes advantage of its rights to the retirement in 1971.
