Biography

Historian of the right of formation, Jean-Louis Beaucarnot grew in a village of Burgundy, in Saône-et-Loire (Saint-Symphorien-with-Marmagne), where it met his vocation, at the 11 years age, to have seen a family tree in a cartoon. He made his first research on the files of his native village, whose his/her grandfather was mayor and very early made and published genealogical studies on various branches of his family.

In 1978, it published its first books, on account of author, who were worth to him enthusiastic criticisms of the large national press ( Le Monde , Le Figaro ). Thus it was requested by radio operator producers to launch a heading of genealogy on France Inter, which knew from the start an astonishing success. By his books and his emissions, Jean-Louis Beaucarnot knew to make share with the French his passion for the genealogy. He thus contributed to his diffusion.

He associates today his passion and his know-how of professional genealogist with activities of journalist, of producer of emissions, author of books and lecturer.

  • Founder in 1982, of Genealogy-magazine , it is today to advise with the drafting of the French Revue of genealogy and history of the families and co-ordinating scientist of the Biennale of Genealogy and History of the Families.
