Azua de Compostela

The town of Azua de Compostela , is the chief town of the province of Azua (Dominican Republic), with a port on the the Caribbean, it has a surface of 2  430 km and a population of 195  420 inhabitants (1990).

The history of this city is filled of events which changed the destiny of the Dominican Republic completely, amongst other things because it was the place of decisive battles between Dominicains and Haitian.
