Aztec triple alliance
The Aztec Triple alliance was an alliance between Tenochtitlán, Texcoco and Tlacopán aiming at ensuring the balance of the forces between these three major cities Aztèques. These kingdoms reigned on the territory of the basin of the Mexico starting from 1428 until the victory of Hernán the Cortes in 1521.
The three kings regarding itself as descendants of the Toltèques, gave each other the right to increase the territory which had formerly belonged to this power by the war. Their territory extended on thousands from Kilomètres. Triple alliance will make it possible to establish the domination of Aztec on the Mésoamérique then controlled by the Tépanèques.
Triple alliance was established between Itzcoatl of Tenochtitlán, Nezahualcoyotl of Texcoco and small the city-State of Tlacopán in 1428. Alliance was not levelling: Tenochtitlán and Texcoco received each one 2/5 of the tributes at the time of the conquests and Tlacopán 1/5. When the Spanish troops arrive in 1520, Tlacopán was almost absorbed by Tenochtitlán.
Alliance controls the major part of the center of Mexico (Mésoamérique) between the peaceful coast and the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. In the south-east of Tenochtitlán: the kingdom of Tlaxcala resists the military pressure of triple alliance. Tlaxcala is combined with the Spanish conquistadores of Hernán the Cortes which have just arrived at Mexico and with them two overcome triples it alliance in 1521, initially by beating Texcoco then Tenochtitlán.
