Ayyoubides

The Ayyoubides , are the descendants of Ayyoub, Kurdish dynasty which reigned on the Egypt and the Syria, was founded in 1171 by Saladin, wire of Ayoub, which reversed the caliphs Fatimide S; the Moslem counter-offensive with the Croisade S was the fact of Saladin and the heirs, of the dynasty ayyoubide; it was reversed in its turn by the Mamelouk S Baharites in 1254. Several princes of this dynasty founded independent States with Alep, Hama, Damas and in the Yemen. The empire that they constitute bases on the control of the Egypt and the Syria.

Chronology

  • 1138 : The family of Najm AD-DIN Ayyoub or Ayyoub, father of Saladin and Kurdish governor of Tikrit, must leave the city shortly after the birth of Saladin, her uncle Shirkuh which has had to kill a man to avenge, according to her dires, the ridiculed honor of a woman.

  • 1140 : Ayyoub obtains Baalbek in stronghold of Zengi.
  • 1164 : Shirkuh carries out a forwarding in Egypt on order Nur AD-DIN, wire of Zengi, to restore the vizier Chawer.
  • 1167 : The second forwarding of Shirkuh in Egypt against Chawer combined with the Francs.
  • January 18th 1169: Shirkuh becomes Vizier of the dynasty fatimide with the Cairo.
  • March 23rd 1169: Died of Shirkuh. Saladin succeeds to him.

  • March 3rd 1193: Died of Saladin to Damas. The Ayyoubide sultanate is divided into four branches: Egypt (1171-1250), Damas (1186-1260), Alep (1183-1260), Mésopotamie. Adil Sayf AD-DIN, or Safadin, brother of Saladin will reunify the possessions ayyoubides (1193 - 1198).
  • 1196 : Adil Sayf AD-DIN takes Damas with its nephew Al-Afdhal Nur AD-DIN Ali.
  • 1198 : Truce between Adil Sayf AD-DIN and Francs.
  • 1218 : Head office of Damiette. Malik Al-Kamel (1180-1238) becomes sultan ayyoubide. from Egypt with died of his/her father Adil Sayf AD-DIN. His/her brother Al-Moazzam becomes sultan of Damas.
  • 1227 : Year-Nasir, sultan ayyubide of Damas.
  • February 18th 1229: Treated between Al-Kamel and Frederic II which obtains Jerusalem.
  • 1229 : Al-Kamel drives out its nephew Year-Nasir of Damas.
  • 1238 : Died of Al-Kamel. Al-Adil II succeeds to him in Egypt.
  • 1239 : Year-Nasir Yûsuf, with the favor of a raid surprised, seizes Jerusalem.
  • 1240 : Al-Adil II is deposited his/her brother Malik Al-Salih Ayyoub (1207-1249) becomes sultan ayyubide.
  • 1249 : Al-Mu' adham, wire of Ayyoub, sultan ayyoubide (1249 - 1250)
  • May 2nd 1250: Revolt Mamelouks Turkish Bahrites which massacre Al-Mu' adham and seize the capacity in Egypt.
  • May 1260: Catch of Alep by Hulagu Khan. The ayyoubides of Syria recognize Mongolian suzerainty.
  • September 3rd 1260: Battle of Ain Djalout. Victoire of the Mamelukes on the Mongolian . Syria ayyoubide is attached to Egypt.
