Ayer is a common Canton of Were worth, located in the District of Sierre.
Topicality
The citizens of the commune of Ayer (58%) accepted on November 26th, 2006, fusion with the five other communes of the Val of Anniviers: Chandolin, Grimentz, Midsummer's Day, Saint-Luc and Vissoie. The new commune Anniviers will be effective in January 2009.
