A ayatollah (آيةالله in Arab or آیتالله in Persan, meaning sign of God ) one of the highest titles is decreed with a member of the Shiite clergy (Mollah). Contrary to the other branches of Islam, the Shiite clergy is very arranged hierarchically. The ayatollahs are the chiefs and the doctors and they are regarded as experts of the Islam in the fields of the Jurisprudence, of the ethical , the Philosophie or the Mysticisme. They teach most of the time in the schools ( hawza ) Islamic.
