Axonème

The axonème is the central part of a lash or of a Flagelle, and is responsible for its movement. It consists of 9 doublets of Microtubule S joined, of which one incomplete and is amalgamated with the second. In the center of the axonème, the two microtubules of the pair are complete. The Protéine S which constitute the axonème are the Dynéine, the Nexine, and of proteins of radiant fibers. Within the cell, the axonème is prolonged by the Blépharoplaste or the Centriole.
