Awarba
Awarba is a Berber tribe located at the north of Taza where their current descendants live (Oureba Branès, Jaia, Meziat, R' Ghiwa, Setta).
This tribe with a remarkable destiny of share its history, but also thanks to the part which she played in the foundation of the first Moslem dynasty to the Morocco, (after that of the Andalusia). Awarbas lived in current the Algérie, they had as a chief Kusayla. Following its defeat at the time of a battle against Zouhair Ben Qays in Mems (it is located at the West of Kairouan). Awarbas had to move and fuyèrent towards the mountain of Zerhoune as well as Volubilis (Oualili).
During the escape of Idriss Ier, it is the chief of the tribe Ishaq Ben Mohammed which accueilla the character. Idriss proved reliable quickly and will be seen entrusting important political responsibilities and nuns. After that, the tribe named it Imam and all the coalition (Ghiata, Ghomara, Miknasa, Nefza, Sedrata, Zouagha, Zouaoua and Zénètes) lent oath to him. Thereafter, Idris Ier married Kenza, the girl of the chief of the tribes and founded the Dynastie Idrisside.
Under the reign of the dynasty Almohade the tribe moved in the north of Taza. Another group of descendants of Awarbas, " Adjouka" live with Ksar to el-Kébir.
