Awara (fruit)
The Awara (galibi " oüara") is the fruit of orange color of Astrocaryum vulgare ( Arecaceae ), a palm tree cultivated in Guyana.
It is of tradition, in Guyana, to eat the “Bouillon of will awara” the Easter Monday. A kind of pot to the fire that one makes boil during 3 days and which contains all kinds of ingredients: paste of will awara (crushed fruit), meat, fish, shrimps, vegetables etc
