Blower of ONERA

Experimental blower of ONERA: this very modern installation comprises in 2006 five Soufflerie S of various sizes intended to study the Aérodynamisme various means of transport (Automobile S, Avion S, etc). The largest oldest blower and, Transonic, is in fact a creation of the Nazis during the Guerre of 1939-1945! It was recovered as damage of Guerre by France and installed here because one needed a very high fall of Eau to make it turn: this blower functions indeed using Turbine S supplied with the release of water of the artificial Lac S of the basic valley of Aussois (Vanoise).

The recovery and the removal of this blower constituted a true serial novel.

Glassmaking of art

A glass-blower of France is installed in Avrieux, in a artisanal Verrerie.

Places and monuments

  • the church Saint-Thomas-Beckett present on his external walls, a Fresco appearing the Virtue S and the Vice S. Its door is 17th century. It shelters a Diptyque of an old retable of the high altar carried out by Jean Clappier. The other retables are due to local artists.
