Avière

The Avière is a French Rivière which runs in the department of the the Vosges (88), in Lorraine. It is a direct affluent of the the Moselle out of left bank, therefore a tributary of a tributary of the the Rhine.

Geography

Avière takes its source in the Monts Sickles and joins the the Moselle with Nomexy, locality located between Épinal and Charmes. Its higher valley is occupied by the Réservoir of Bouzey.

Its affluents are the Ru of the Reeds, Corbé and Poinsot.

Crossed localities

The river crosses the villages of Sanchey, Uxegney, Domèvre-on-Avière, Oncourt, Mazeley, Frizon and Nomexy, all located in the department of the the Vosges.

Hydrology

The average interannual flow or module of Avière, with the confluence of the Moselle is worth 1,28 m ³ a second for a catchment area of 108,2 km ².
