Avenue de France
The which occurred of France is an avenue recently created in the 13 {{E}} district of Paris. It is the main artery of the new district Paris Left bank. It owes its name with the fact that still no way of the capital had honoured the country.
Broad 40 meters, the avenue of France leaves the Rue of the Large Mills and goes up towards the North-West while crossing the Rue New-with-Tolbiac (prolongation of the Rue of Tolbiac). It skirts the National library of France and joined the Boulevard Vincent-Auriol. The Rue Pierre-Mendès-France continues its layout until the Quai of Austerlitz. A final section should in the long term prolong the avenue of France in the direction of south-east to the boulevards of the Marshals (Boulevard Masséna).
The avenue of France crosses a new district comprising of the office buildings, the residences, the cultural educational establishments or and some coffees. It skirts while overhanging them the railways of the station of Austerlitz on half of its course.
History
Work started in 1995 and a first section of the avenue was open in 2001 between the Vincent-Auriol boulevard and the street New-of-Tolbiac. The architect Paul Andreu ensured the overall concept. The responsibility for installations returned to Jean-Michel Wilmotte and Patrick Céleste.
