Aventis
Aventis is a pharmaceutical group European which was born in 1999 from fusion from the German Hoechst, of the French Rhône-Poulenc and Roussel-Uclaf, of the American Rorer and Marion and of the British Fisons.
Aventis eétait with dimensions with the Paris Bourse and tie-beam in the composition of the index CAC 40.
The public offering of purchase
In January 2004, Sanofi-Synthélabo launched a Public offering of purchase (tender offer) hostile on Aventis. The leaders of Aventis initially declared themselves refractory with the offer of Sanofi-Synthélabo and the Swiss group Novartis has, in its turn, makes a proposal for a repurchase. The April 25th 2004, the board of trustees of Aventis finally announced that it accepted the offer improved of Sanofi-Synthélabo.
The group thus became Sanofi Aventis the August 20th 2004.
