Avenida Santa Fe

The Avenida Santa Fe is an important avenue of Buenos Aires, capital of the Argentine. From East-West general orientation, it is born in the district from Retiro, on the level of the Plaza General San Martín, more precisely with its southern crossroads between the streets Calle Marcelo Torcuato de Alvear and Calle Florida , where this last cease to be pedestrian. In its course towards the west, it crosses the districts of Retiro then of Recoleta.

It crosses then the district of Palermo and skirts the southern part of the Botanical garden. Just after it forms the Plaza Italia, center of the barrio (district) of Palermo, where the Zoo begins from Buenos Aires.

It still continues and finishes on the level of the station " Ministro Carranza" , where it is prolonged by the Avenida Cabildo .

Subway

Avenida Santa Fe is skirted on a good part of its course (the western part) by the Ligne, which has the following stations there: " Pueyrredón" , " Agüero" , " Bulnes" , " Scalabrini Ortiz" , " Plaza Italia" , " Palermo" and " Ministro Carranza".

Moreover it is expected that the news line G borrows all the Eastern course of Avenida Santa Fe, since Plaza General San Martín until Avenida Pueyrredón (in correspondence on this level with the Ligne and future the Ligne). Of this fact Avenida Santa Fe will be skirted on all its course by ways of subway. The stations under consideration for this line G are: " Cerrito" , " Uruguay" , " Callao" and " Pueyrredón".

Finally two of the other new lines planned for 2010-2020, namely the line F, and the line I will have stations on the level of the avenue, in correspondence with the line D:

  • Line F: stations " Palermo" and " Plaza Italia"
  • Line I: station " Plaza Italia"

Thus the avenue will profit from multiple correspondences towards the four corners of the city.
