The county of Tulare is a county of the State of California to the the United States. With the census of 2000, it counted: 368021 inhabitants. Its seat is Visalia. The National Sequoia Park is in this county, whose surface is of 12.533 km ².

The County of Tulare was made of parts of the Comté of Mariposa in 1852; then of its territory to the profit of the Comté of Fresno in 1856 lost, of that of Kern in 1866, of the Comté of Inyo and the Comté of Kings in 1893.

Ordering Pedro Fages discovered in 1772 a big lake surrounded by marsh filled with snap rings. It called this one " Los Tules". It is of this lake that the name comes from the county.
