Avalanche of Colorado
The Avalanche of Colorado is a professional frankness from Hockey, established with Denver in the state of the Colorado to the the United States. It evolves/moves in the North-western division of the National league of hockey (LNH). The Avalanche gained the Coupe Stanley twice, in 1996 and 2001.

Competition with Red Wings de Détroit
In 1996, the Avalanche of Colorado met the Red Wings de Détroit in finales of the conference of the West and gained the series 4-2. During the sixth match, while the player of Red Wings, Kris To drape, patinated towards the bench, it was charged against the balustrade, face ahead, by Claude Lemieux, of the Avalanche. The match finished with 9 combat, 11 goals, 39 penalties, 148 minutes of penalty, a triplet (of Valeri Kamensky), and a brawl between the guards Patrick Roy and Mike Vernon. Claude Lemieux was one of the players more particularly aimed by the players of Red Wings. Red Wings ended up carrying it in prolongation, 6 goals with 5. The Avalanche has known two skating rinks for its first season:

- the Pepsi Center since 1999.
The McNichols Arena had: 16061 places for hockey and went back to 1975. Called Big Mac , the room was used as skating rink for the frankness from the Worldwide association from hockey the Spurs from Denver then for that from the Rockies from Colorado (of the LNH) then Flames from Colorado from the central Ligue from hockey. The room accommodates two of the four matches of the finale of the Coupe Stanley 1996. It was shaven in 1999, to leave room to the carpark of new INVESCO Field At Mile High.
The construction of the Pepsi Center began in November 1997 and the inauguration of the room took place in October 1999 with a concert of Céline Dion. Its cost of construction was of 160 million USD. Pepsi Center accommodated in 2001 the Match of the Stars of the LNH.
The room can accommodate until: 18007 people.
Shirts and logos
Logos
The logo of the Avalanche of Colorado east made up of the letter “has”, color Bordeaux wine, surrounded by an avalanche of snow forming “C” descending of the left side of the letter and finishing in a metal disc of hockey. There is a blue oval around the logo.The alternative logo of the team is the foot of Bigfoot , and is reproduced on the shoulders of the shirts residence and outside of the Avalanche.
Shirts
The shirts of the Avalanche did not change since their first season. The colors of the team are the Bordeaux wine, the Bleu and the Blanc.Shirt residence, which was the external shirt until 2003 when the LNH decided to reverse the shirts residence and outside, is with dominant Bordeaux wine and dark blue. There are two black and white lines in zigzag along the shirt, one on the shoulders, the other close to the belly. Between them, the shirt is Bordeaux wine and it is dark blue outside these lines. Similar lines make the turn of the neck. The logo is placed in the middle of the shirt. At the top of each shoulder, is the alternative logo.
The external shirt is identical, but with different colors. The Bordeaux wine part of the shirt residence is white on the external shirt, the blue part is Bordeaux wine, and the black and white lines become white and blue dark.
The Avalanche introduced during the season a 2001-02 third shirt. It is with dominant Bordeaux wine. “Colorado” is written in diagonal of the shirt, where is the logo on the other shirts. In bottom, there are three horizontal broad lines: the first and the last are black and that of the medium is white. With half of the handles, there are five lines, black, white and Bordeaux wine of outside towards the interior on each side.

This section introduces the important players in the history of the Avalanche who acquired one of most beautiful rewards in the LNH, the access to the Temple of re-elected hockey. To be allowed with the Temple of the fame, the file of each petitioner will have to pass in front of eighteen members of the committee and to receive at least the three-quarters of the votes (fifteen members). Patrick Roy played Colorado of 1995 with 2003 and gained two Coupes Stanley with the Avalanche. Roy gained 551 victories during its career, which makes of it the guard the most victorious of the history of the LNH. It allowed with the temple of was re-elected in 2006.

Joe Sakic marked since the beginning of its career the history of the frankness from Colorado. Always in activity, it is at the beginning of the season 2007-08, the player who holds the majority of the records of the frankness. 27 78 79.
Thus, he is the player who took part in the greatest number of matches of the Avalanche, as well in regular season (811 matches) as at the time of the eliminatory series (150). He is also the best striker of the regular team with 376 goals in seasons and 75 of more for the series. He holds the record of the number of goals over one season with 54 goals in 2000-01 and series with 18 goals in 1996. Among the 54 goals of the regular season, 12 were decisive for its team.
