Auzat is a common French, located in the department of the Ariège and the area the Midday-Pyrenees. Its inhabitants is called Auzatois.
Geography
Located in the the Pyrenees on the Vicdessos, it is a frontier commune with the Andorre and the Spain.

- 1907 Construction of the factory Pechiney (manufacture of Ingot S and Billet S of Aluminum).
- 1908 Construction of a central hydroelectric allowing to feed in electricity the Pechiney factory.
- 1939 Catastrophe of Izourt : avalanche causing the death of 28 people (see).
- 1990 Establishment of the Company of water of Montcalm.
- 2003 Closing of the Pechiney factory.
