Auxiliadora
Auxiliadora is a district of the town of Porto Alegre, capital of the State of the Rio Grande C Sul.
It was created by the Law 2022 of the 12/7/1959.

Current limits
Street Colonel Bordini, with the angle with the street Cristóvão Colombo, to the street Eudoro Berlink; of this one to the Dirty street Pedro Chaves Barcelos and street Campos; from there to the avenue Carlos Gomes, and, in Southern/Northern direction, in its prolongation, until joining the street Dom Pedro II, then with the street Cristóvão Colombo, until turning over to the street Colonel Bordini.
History
This district started to develop in relation with the Road of Aldeia (current street of the 24 of Outubro). This way connected the capital gaúcha to the Paroisse (Freguesia) da Aldeia back Anjos, known today under the name of Gravataí.
With the installation of windmills on the properties of Antonio Martins Barbosa - known as " Carlos Mineiro" - the Road of Aldeia became more attended and took the name of Road of the Windmills (Estrada back Moinhos de Vento).
Developing slowly, the district started a new rise in 1893 with the startup of a line of Tramway on its territory. The following year, Prado of the Independência brought many visitors in the zone. By successive establishments of other lines of public transport, Auxiliadora took airs of district.
Between 1912 and 1913 began a process of allotment on the grounds of this area. Few years later, in 1916, was set up the Chapelle Notre-Dame d' Auxiliadora, who gave her current name to the district. The vault became parish in 1919. In 1961 the new building of the church was inaugurated, of neo-classic architectural style, imitating l'´ Église of the Madeleine of Paris. Into 1933, the Road Moinhos de Vento changed name for its current, 24 of Outubro.
Today
This district has like characteristic to have well ordered streets and a mixture of old houses and buildings modern.
In spite of its proximity of the Center of Porto Alegre, the place is quiet; it is a residential district having a device of trade and services varied for the wellbeing of its residents. It comprises activities of leisures for all the ages, including/understanding several bars and discotheques. One finds elegant and refined restaurants there.
