Auxanogramme of carbon (medium)

The auxanogramme of carbon is a synthetic Culture medium.

Use

This culture medium is entirely synthetic, its composition is exactly known. It does not contain a Glucide S. It allows the determination of the Auxanogramme carbon. I.e. to study the behavior (resulting in a culture or not) of Micro-organisms (Bacterium S, Yeast S) with respect to studied glucids.

It contains essential components like amino-acid, Vitamine S and sources of mineral ions what makes it possible to study only one limiting factor: the Glucid studied.

Composition

- L Histidine: ..................................... 10,0 µg - D Methionine: ................................... 20,0 µg - D Tryptophan: .................................. 20,0 µg - Biotine: ........................................ 10,0 ng - Thiamin: ........................................ 1,0 µg - Pyridoxin: ...................................... 1,0 µg - Pantothénate of calcium: ......................... 1,0 µg - Nicotinic acid: ............................... 1,0 µg - Inositol: ....................................... 10,0 µg - Sulfate of ammonia: ................................ 5,0 G - Potassium Dihydrogénophosphate: ................. 1,0 G - Epsom salt: ............................. 0,5 G - Calcium chloride: .............................. 0,1 G - Sodium chloride: ............................... 0,1 G - Solution of oligoéléments (Berthelot) ............... 0,5 ml - Agar-agar .......................................... 8 G or 12 G (pH = 5,6)

Preparation

Two possibilities.

That is to say the medium solid and is presented out of box of Petri. After sowing, one places glucid discs to be studied.

That is to say the medium is semi-solid and used in a API Galerie, the cups of the latter contain glucids to be studied.

Reading

The presence of a culture indicates that the Micro-organisme is able to assimilate the studied Glucide.
