Autricourt

Autricourt is a common French, located in the department of the Coast-with Or and the area Burgundy. It forms part with 93 other communes of the Communauté of communes of the Country Châtillonnais.

The village is in the extreme north of Coast-in Or, on the course of the river the Ource, with a score of kilometers of the small town of the Châtillon-on-Seine, chief town of district.

History

This village would have Celtic origins, circumvallations, ditches and ground liftings, were observed not far from the current village. In the hamlet of Champigny, Gallic burials were found. It is franque time which the name Autricourt would come, of the name of an owner of field, Auster and curtis : field. Towards XIe century, erection in feudal stronghold is attested by the presence of the castle passing later under the domination of the dukes of Burgundy.

Places and monuments

  • the castle, in a park in the center of the village, is a private property. It dates, for the oldest part, of the end of XIe century which is surrounded by ditches supplied with a derivation of Ource. The current buildings, a flanked home of two round towers dates from the XIV and XVIe century. It belonged during time to the lords of Autricourt, Rupt, Anglure, Ligneville, Crillon, Valois, Mursey, Gaucourt. In 1795, the castle and its field are bought by Jacques-Alexandre Gautier de Vinfrais, above lord of Villeneuve-the-King and Ablon. In 1809, the castle is transmitted by heritage to the family of Treil de Pardailhan, which had preserved it until these last years.
  • the church, dedicated to Saint-Valentine-of-Rome has a chorus and a bedside of XVe century and is partly classified with the additional inventory of the historic buildings. The frontage and the bell-tower are more recent and date from the XVIIIe century.
