History

Imagined by Walt Disney in person, the basic concept of attraction was to show the young people and less young people, the future benefit of the highways in order to simplify the road exchanges. At the time of the opening of original attraction in 1955, the president Eisenhower was to sign a law on the inter-state. Gradually the principle changed to become an attraction where the young people could learn how to lead and where young people could be led by their children.

Before the opening of the park, the vehicles were tested without bumper and were more or less destroyed by the testers. Bumpers were placed at before and with the back of the cars but there remained a problem with the collisions. The shocks in diagonal were still frequent and dangerous. A guide rail was thus added in order to avoid any accident risk or of route exits.
