Autopackage
Autopackage is a management system of relatively new package for GNU/Linux. It is usable under all the distributions. Contrary to the formats of package RPM and deb., Autopackage checks the presence of dependence on the current system, rather than to question a database of information of package. Although it reduces the compatibility issues with various conventions of package, it seems that Autopackage is slower than the native formats of the distributions.
The Autopackage packages are in fact of achievable scripts Bash, and can thus be installed simply by carrying out them.
Autopackage is conceived to install software not making to part of the core, like the word processing, navigators Internet or the plays, contrary to the libraries core or of software like the shells. For these libraries and software core, it is recommended to use the manager of package of the distribution for reasons of speed and speed. The libraries not forming part of the core are a thorny problem: On a side Autopackage makes their installation possible for a greater number of systems, on another side of the problems can occur when one wants to install native packages which depend on the libraries already installed with Autopackage.
Autopackage differs from other achievable fitters for GNU/Linux like " Loki To install " by the fact that it is especially conceived to be compatible with the most distributions possible.
