Autonomous region with special statute
Article 116 of the Italian Constitution provides that particular conditions of autonomy are allotted to five areas:
- Sardinia (constitutional law n° 3, of February 26th, 1948)
- Trentin-Haut-Adige
- Friuli-Venezia Giulia
- Valley of Aoste
A constitutional law defines the statutes of each one of these areas.
