Autonomous prefecture Kyrgyz of Kizilsu
The autonomous prefecture Kyrgyz of Kizilsu (克孜勒苏柯尔克孜自治州; Pinyin: Kèzīlèsū kē'ěrkèzī Zìzhìzhōu ; Kyrgyz: كىزىلسۋكىزگىزاۆتونومييالىوبلاستى/КызылсуКыргыз aвтономиялы oбласты; Ouïghour: قىزىلسۇقىرغىزئاپتونومئوبلاست/Kizilsu Kirğiz Aptonom Oblasti) is an administrative subdivision of the autonomous region of the Xinjiang in China. Its chief town is the town of Artux.
Climate
The climate is of continental type dry. The average temperatures for the town of Akqi go from approximately -8°C for the coldest month to +20°C for the hottest month, with an annual average of 7,2°C, and the Pluviométrie is there of 186 Misters.
Demography
The population of the prefecture was estimated at: 439700 inhabitants in 2000, and with: 460000 inhabitants in 2004.
Culture
The Mausoleum of Satuq Bughra, Khan of the dynasty of the Qarakhanides, which, according to the legend, made convert its people with the Islam after being converted there itself, was built in 955 - 956 close to Artux. It is still today a place of pilgrimage.Although it is about an autonomous prefecture Kyrgyz, government decisions tend to support the use of the Mandarin to the detriment of the Kyrgyz , as its exclusive employment testifies some since September 2006 in the elementary classes to the town of Artux, decision which will extend from here 2012 with the unit from the primary and secondary classes from this city.

The autonomous prefecture of Kizilsu exerts its jurisdiction on four subdivisions - a city-county and three counties :- the town of Artux - 阿图什市 Ātúshí Shì ;
- the county of Akto - 阿克陶县 Ākètáo Xiàn ;
- the county of Akqi - 阿合奇县 Āhéqí Xiàn ;
- the county of Ulugqat - 乌恰县 Wūqià Xiàn .
