Autonomous county Dongxiang

The autonomous county Dongxiang (东乡族自治县; Pinyin: Dōngxiāngzú Zìzhìxiàn) is an administrative subdivision of the province of the Gansu in China. It is placed under the jurisdiction of the city-prefecture of the autonomous Préfecture today of Linxia.

Demography

The autonomous county gathers more half of the Dongxiang, the others being mainly distributed in the remainder of the Gansu and in the autonomous region of the Xinjiang.

The population of the county was of: 258557 inhabitants in 1999.
