Automobile Nanjing
Nanjing Automobile (Group) Corporation (Yuejin Motor Group Corporation) is a Chinese government enterprise which employs more than 16.000 people. Founded in 1947 it is the most former Chinese manufacturer of cars. The industrial site is established on a surface of 400 ha, its production capacity is approximately 200.000 vehicles per annum. The production includes/understands the particular sector cars, the small trucks and the buses.
History
The history of Nanjing Automobile (Group) Corporation goes back to 1947. It is on March 10th, 1958 that the company manufactured the first light truck of China. Consequently the factory was authorized to manufacture motor vehicles and the company Nanjing Automobile Works was born.
Between the years 1958 and 1979, Nanjing remained in a position of quasi monopoly in the sector of the cars in China. In 1980, to satisfy the request, Nanjing the first diesel engine installed on a commercial vehicle.
In 1995, within the framework of the partnership agreements with the Italian group FIAT S.p.A. and in particular IVECO and FIAT Car, a joint venture Automobile Nanjing Viejo Co. was created. Then, thanks to the liberalization of the overseas investments in China, Nanjing FIAT Company is created, intended for the construction of cars FIAT for the Chinese market.
Then, production capacity was carried to 200.000 vehicles, including/understanding particular cars, light utilities, trucks means and large tonnage, minibuses, cross-country vehicles, and special vehicles developed starting from frame coming from the manufacturers Yuejin, Nanjing-Iveco, Nanjing-FIAT and Soyat.
July 22nd, 2005, Nanjing Automobile Group repurchases the credits of the British manufacturer MG Rover Group for an amount of £ 53 million.

Wuxi Soyat
Wuxi Soyat is a mark of Nanjing Automobile (Group) Corporation, the 4th component of the group with the Yuejin units, Nanjing-Iveco and Nanjing-FIAT, and represents the second productive base of cars. Installed in Wuxi, the center of the Hangzhou-Shanghai-Nanjing triangle.
Models of the Soyat range:
Soyat NJ7150 and Single Soyat - license SEAT Ibiza 1st generation, Soyat SUV - Isuzu license, Soyat Record player - Isuzu license,
These models are marketed only in China.
Yuejin Motor Group
Nanjing Automobile Corporation markets Yuejin manufacture, mark specialized in the commercial vehicles and the average trucks tonnage.
Currently, Yuejin Motor Group has an annual production of approximately 200.000 vehicles. The range covers a broad including panel of models of the light utilities, of the trucks tonnage means, the minibuses, the 4x4, the minibuses and special constructions resting on frames and mechanical bases of various origins.
Nanjing-FIAT Joint Venture
The joint-venture with 50/50 between NAC and FIAT S.p.A. was created in April 1999. Located in the district of Jiangning - New Technology Park off Nanjing, Nanjing-FIAT sold 24.000 vehicles in 2002,36 000 in 2006, releasing a A.C. of 3,2 billion yuans (420 million $ US).
Nanjing-FIAT manufactures 4 models:
- FIAT Palio,
- FIAT Palio Weekend,
- FIAT Siena,
- FIAT Beaded, first model drawn jointly by FIAT and Automobile Nanjing-FIAT,
And starting from second half-year the 2007 news FIAT Linea will be also manufactured. It would be even planned to build there FIAT Panda and Large FIAT Punto as from 2008.
The Alfa Romeo 159 will be also manufactured in China but within the framework of a partnership with Cherry.
FIAT is one of the last large manufacturers world to be itself established in China but account to develop well quickly and laid down at its local associate the objective to manufacture 300.000 vehicles from here 2010 per annum. The sales of 1st six-month period 2006 are established with 16,442 units, in progression of 27%. The news FIAT Beaded, from which the sales began in September 2006, should reach the 40,000 units this year.
Recently, at the beginning of May 2007, a.D. of FIAT Automobile, Mr. Marchione, officially declared " deeply insatisfait" results of its association with Nanjing in the automobile field, production rates " abnormally lentes" probably had with the enormous effort which must authorize the Chinese manufacturer to put in manufacture the models MG in his own Chinese factories.
A continuation of the joint-venture with a complementary investment was decided in June 2007.
Nanjing FIAT is a component of FIAT China.
Nanjing-Iveco Joint Venture
Iveco, the heavy trucks subsidiary company of FIAT, constituted in 1986 a trade co-operation and technical for manufacture, under license, certain models of the range Iveco Daily of 1st generation, by Yuejin Trucks.In 1996, with the liberalization of the overseas investments in China, this agreement transformed into joint-venture for manufacture by Iveco, in China, of 20.000 specimens per annum of all the range Iveco Daily, vans, trucks bucket and minibus. Baptized NAVECO, this company has an annual A.C. which exceeds the 400 million $ US.
Very satisfied with the quality of their relations, the associates developed this J.V by amalgamating NAVECO and Yuejin under the only entity NAVECO which becomes the principal manufacturer of the country. Yuejin had a capacity of construction of 40.000 unités/an and its integration in NAVECO will make it possible to reach the 100 000 units from here 2008. All the Yuejin range will be equipped with modern technologies Iveco.
NAVECO is a component of FIAT China.
The project MG by Automobile Nanjing
A significant step was taken by NAC in its international strategy, at the time of the purchase of MG Rover and Powertrain Ltd. Following this success, NAC puts all works about it to start again the manufacture of the models of the famous British manufacturer in China. ----
