Automobile Grand Prix of the East United States

The automobile Grand Prix of the United States East is a test which counted for the championship of the world of Formule 1 of 1976 to 1980, then in 1982 and 1983.

History

The GP of the East United States was the direct heir to the GP of the United States which was held with Watkins Glen since 1961. The new denomination was the consequence of the organization as from 1976, of a second test on the American ground (called GP of the Western United States).

Absent from the calendar in 1981, the GP of the East United States made its reappearance in 1982, on the urban circuit of Strait. But since 1984, this test took the name of Grand Prix of Strait.
