Automation Studio

Automation Studio is a Logiciel published by the company Famic Technologies. It covers the fields of the Simulation, of the Conception computer-assisted (CAD), of the Maintenance and the Diagnostic and the Documentation of project. This software is mainly used by engineers for fields like the Hydraulique, the Pneumatique, the Synoptique, the electricity and the electrotechnical .

Two principal versions of the software are proposed:

- professional version, which is a simulation and numerical model

- educational version, which is a modified version of the first, designed for the educational establishments

Professional version

Design

The first shutter of Automation Studio is its shutter of design: the software makes it possible to conceive grafcets, electrical circuits, diagrams and drawings in a more general way.

It contains a library of symbols, which makes it possible to integrate elements standardized in the diagrams, such as for example of the switches, the generators, the reels, the connector blocks and the electrical equipment boxes for the electric shutter, and of the elements like engines, transmissions, the power steering and devices inspecting for the hydraulic and pneumatic shutter.

Simulation

The systems modelled on Automation Studio can be tested by the software before a true model is built. Simulation carried out holds in account various technical constraints, like the viscosity of the fluids, the heat transfers, the losses of pressure, etc During modeling, the components used become animated and are colorisent according to their behavior during simulation.

Educational version

The educational version of Automation Studio is a tool having less functionalities than the professional version, and which is intended for educational establishments of the technical matter schools. The modeling and the simulation of the software must be used of example and illustration following a theoretical course.

This version is used by universities such as the Université of Montreal (Canada), Texas A&M (the United States) and Lews Castle College (Great Britain).

The matters which are taught with the support of the software are for example electromechanics, the electric one and electronics, and technologies industrial in a more general way.

Libraries

The libraries of Automation Studio correspond to whole of symbols (for standards like ISO, IEC, JIC and NEMA). These elements are used to adapt the models carried out to the various standards required by these organizations.

Aspects of the software

Hydraulic ACE

The hydraulic shutter of Automation Studio is an aspect of the software conceived for the engineering of the hydraulic systems in particular. It integrates a specific library of symbols. It uses modelings like that of Bernoulli and the method of the gradient. It is the principal aspect of Automation Studio. Hydraulic ACE is used to design and simulate hydraulic systems, by integrating elements of thermodynamics (thermal stress interns and external) and elements of schematization (cross-section, dimensioning). A under-library of ACE - hydraulics proportional and servovalve - introduced elements such as the control and control devices: control PID, CANbus, power steering.

Pneumatic ACE

The pneumatic shutter of Automation Studio is similar to the hydraulic shutter, the difference being that the circuits of Pneumatic ACE are dedicated to the circuits in which circulate of gases.

In fact, the technical constraints which are taken into account are not any more the same ones: the hydrodynamics and the mechanics of the fluids leave the place to the mechanics of gases.

Electric ACE

The electric shutter of Automation Studio is used to model electrical circuits comprising of the additional constraints of wiring, such as the classification of wire, use of connector blocks, chutes and other more traditional tools of electric engineering.
