Autogenic training
The autogenic Training of Schultz is a therapeutic technique of Relaxation aiming at an appeasing of the Stress and anxiety.
Doctor Schultz
Johannes Heinrich Schultz was born in Low Saxony in 1884 and deceased in 1970. Doctor, it directed himself towards psychiatry and psychology. He worked out his technique based on physiological and psychological data between 1905 and 1932.
Autogenic Training
For Schultz, autogenic training (or " method of relieving by car-relaxation concentrative") must be included/understood like a drive with the Autohypnose, which allows a reduction of the tensions and Stress. It is of an interest in the diseases Psychosomatique S, psychotherapy, but also the Médecine of the sport and the management of the stress by allowing relieving and relaxation.This method breaks up into five phases: gravity, heat, organics, heart, and breathing. Each one of these phases must be perfectly acquired before passing to the following one. For example, for the first week of daily exercises, the drive is based on the feeling of heaviness. The following week on the feeling of heat and so on. To practice this method, one takes the reclining position, the arms along the body, hands flat, legs brought closer, the feet slightly turned towards outside.
A process in 5 or 6 sequences
Here suggestions usually made by the experts, within the framework of the meetings:1) On the basis of the head to the feet, mentally visualize all your muscles slackening, visualize the impression of heaviness, gravity of the part of the body on which you concentrate. 2) Always of the head towards the feet, mentally visualize an impression of soft and pleasant heat, related to the increase in vascular blood circulation in the part in progress. 3) Concentrate this time on your internal bodies, stomach, intestines,… try to extend the feeling of heat, of relaxation to those Ci. 4) Always by visualization, modify your cardiac rhythm, your heart must beat more slowly than usually. 5) Then, concentrate on your breathing until reaching a full and slow breathing
6) According to the original method of Doctor Schultz, there exists a last stage which consists in cooling the face and the head. This stage must be approached with prudence because it can cause migraines.
Normally, at this stage the level of relieving can be sufficiently important to start a meeting of meditation or auto- Hypnose. It is possible that at the first meetings, the customers pain to reach the desired state of relieving.
Applications
Today, the autogenic training is a technique which remains largely used by the psychiatrists, psychologists, but also by certain doctors with an aim of assistance to control of the anxiety and stress among patients presenting a physical disease, like a cancerous pathology, or a psychosomatic disease.
