Autobiography of a zucchini
Autobiographie of a zucchini is a Romance of Gilles Paris.
This novel tells the life of Icare alias Zucchini, young boy a 9 year old who only lives with his alcoholic mother since the day when his/her father left “to make the round the world tour with a hen”. It often hides in its attic because it is the only place where his/her mother cannot go up (She has a stiff leg since an car accident) to strike it (she beats it all the time). The attic, he plays with apples, and looks at the small neighbor who plays with the pigs of his father, in the garden.
One day when his/her mother is into full depresses and is caught some with the sky, Icare finds the revolver of this one by excavating its room (with his/her mother) and tries “to kill the sky, which made leave its dad with a hen and drink its mom”. His/her mother tries to remove the weapon to him, but the blow leaves, which wounds his/her mother mortally. After this dramatic accident, Icare is placed at the Fountains, a hearth for children.
Its life radically changes, with Rosy, the teacher, the others " éduc'" , Francois, Michel, Pauline the " Salt small grue" , and Mrs. Papineau the director, but especially buddies: Ahmed who makes wee with the bed, the Chafoin brothers, Boris and Antoine and them " play of the dictionnaire" , Jujube, which spend its time has to eat, Alice which always has the hair in the eyes, Béatrice who mets fingers in the nose, Simon, which very knows to him E his/her buddies, but of which nobody knows anything of his past, but especially Raymond, the " nice policier" and his/her son, and Camille, with which it falls in love.
Written with the first anybody, from the point of view of Icare, this novel of naive appearance is in fact a true critic of the French social system. Indeed, Gilles Paris endeavors to draw a realistic picture of the life of the orphans in France, showing a hearth of reception to reveal the lifestyle of the children, the way in which they are educated as well as the relationships to their entourage.
