Autobianchi A111

The Autobianchi A111 was a car manufactured by the Italian manufacturer Autobianchi (Group FIAT) between 1968 and 1972.

Intended to replace in the Autobianchi range the Primula, A111 took again the mechanical concept of before guard of its devancière: front traction with an engine placed transversely and joined gear box, suspension with 4 independent wheels. Equipped with the engine of FIAT 124 S with 1438 cm ³ and 75 ch, it profited from a very top-of-the-range completion with seats covered with thick velvet and from an incorporating instrument panel of burr walnut.

Studied by brilliant Dante Giacosa, it was the first car of group FIAT of this gauge, truck with generous dimensions, to adopt front traction. In its category A111 is one of the first cars for which it was paid attention as for the habitability and the capacity of loading of the trunk. Its line is characteristic of productions FIAT of this time.

Because of its great resemblance to its binocular, FIAT 124, its business success was not with the height of the hopes of the direction of the group FIAT which prematurely stopped of it manufacture in 1972 after less than 60.000 specimens manufactured.

Today it is a rare model and unfortunately not very required.
